The legend
Sand, a tomb and a very long nap
Long before anyone said the word block, a scribe wrapped himself in linen to keep a secret safe. He lay down in a stone room at the edge of the hood and fell asleep with the secret tucked under the third bandage.
“Whatever you wrap, keep the key.”
Thousands of years later the room filled with a strange hum. Blocks were being stacked outside his door, one every fraction of a second, each one sealed and stamped. The mummy sat up, counted them, and decided he finally had neighbours who understood him.
Now he wakes every October. He keeps the tomb open to anyone who wants to seal a message for later, guards every wrap until its date, and goes back to sleep on 1 November with a little more linen than before.
